In Bison's Forest — Guided Bike Group - 8 days 240 km

The Białowieża Forest is the last primeval forest in Europe, inhabited by bisons living in freedom. It is the oldest Polish National Park and the only one included on the UNESCO World's Natural Heritage list.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Warszawa - Białowieża / Budy (coach transfer - about 230 km)
Arrival in Warsaw; meeting with a guide at Hotel Radisson at ca 11.00 am; guided sightseeing tour of Warsaw: usually the following places are visited: the Old Town, the Royal Park Łazienki, the city center, the Royal Route, the Memorial of Ghetto. ca 2.00 p.m. transfer to Białowieża. Dinner and overnight in Białowieża/Budy.
Day 2 - Teremiski, Budy, Białowieża (bike trip 35 km)
After breakfast, bike trip through the Bialowieza Forest. You visit the village of Białowieża and the tzar's church (with china iconostas). You will be cycling throughout Old Białowieża and see a group of old tall oaks. These "Royal Oaks" are named after Polish kings, who used to hunt here. In the Bison Reservation you can observe animals living in this region. In Budy you can visit an Open Air Wooden Buildings Musuem. Overnight in Białowieża/Budy.
Day 3 - National Park (bike trip about 25 km)
After breakfast, biking to Białowieża (when from Budy), guided walk into the Preserve of National Park. 3 hour's long you will learn the cycle of nature and see a piece of the forest almost untouched by human hand. The trees here grow as long as they can stand upright and even if they fall, no one is permitted to take them away. The Strict Nature Preserve of Białowieża has been famous worldwide for over 80 years. Short bike trip in the countryside, overnight in Białowieża/Budy.
Day 4 - Through the Forest (bike trip about 25 km)
In the early morning (about 5 A.M.): possibility of excursion to the forest with a local guide for tracing animals and if you are lucky, you will see birds like storks, eagles or cranes or even some bisons living in the wild. In the afternoon - bike trip through the forest to the border (the EU east border) overnight in Białowieża or Budy.
Day 5 - Hajnówka, Topiło (bike trip about 58 km)
After breakfast, biking to Hajnówka - a town at the entrance to the Forest. Visiting an Orthodox church and the local bazaar, visit at "U Wolodii" pub, which is equiped with items from the Soviet era, cycling to a forest lake in Topilo. If weather allows, you can take a bath and rest at the lakeside. Along the bank of the Lesna river, nature e.g. birds can be observed, overnight in Białowieża or Budy.
Day 6 - Narewka (bike trip 45 km)
After breakfast, we start the day by cycling to Narewka - a village, where 80% of population were Jewish before the World War Two. You will visit the former Jewish cemetery. Biking trip on another route throughout the forest, kayak trip on the Narewka river, festive dinner in the bon-fire evening, overnight in Białowieża/Budy.
Day 7 - Siemianówka Lake (tour about 60 km)
After breakfast, biking to an observation tower in the forest to see the Narewka valley. Biking at the barrage lake Siemianówka - filming location for the Chronicles of Narnia. You can observe many bird species, which cannot be seen in other places in Poland. In the evening , farewell dinner at the bonfire with music. Overnight in Białowieża/Budy.
Day 8 - Białowieża / Budy - Warszawa (coach transfer)
In the morning: transfer to Warsaw (arrival at 1.00 P.M.). Additional stay in Warsaw is possible. End of services or extra stay in Warszawa.
